YMCA Hall of Fame Scholarship, G. Dale Meyer Scholarship and Elsie Wong Nursing Scholarship
$1,500 YMCA Hall of Fame Scholarship
Named to honor the long term commitment of our many donors.
$1,500 G. Dale Meyer Scholarship
Named in honor of a beloved board member of the YMCA and the founder of the scholarship fund.
Both of these scholarships may be used at any accredited institution of learning, including schools with 4-year, 2-year, trade or vocational degree programs. They are available to all currently enrolled high school seniors who have had a significant experience or connection with a YMCA.
The selection committee will review each application in terms of a combination of factors, including merit, academic and extracurricular credentials, awards, leadership, overall student achievement and the impact of the Y on the applicant.
The following items must be submitted along with your application:
- A one page essay describing the impact that the Y has had on you, lessons learned from participation in Y programs and how the Y core values play a part in your everyday life.
- A letter of recommendation from a teacher, counselor or administrator.
Applications are due no later than April 28, 2023. The winners of the scholarships will be notified no later than May 12, 2023.

$1000 Elsie Wong Scholarship
Established to honor the memory of Elsie Yuk Moi Wong. This scholarship is to be directed toward a nursing student in any secondary education institution nursing program. Award recipient can include incoming or returning students and is not limited to first-year students.
The selection committee will review each application in terms of a combination of factors, including merit, academic and extracurricular credentials, awards, leadership and overall student achievement.
The following items must be submitted along with your application:
- A one-page essay describing why you have chosen the field of nursing.
- A letter of recommendation from a teacher, counselor or administrator.
Applications are due no later than April 28, 2023. The winners of the scholarships will be notified no later than May 12, 2023.
